After two sold-out expeditions in ‘24 and ‘25, my Namibia photography workshop is back for the third year! For 11 days we’ll cross the country together in a built-for-anything overland vehicle, exploring some of the most incredible landscapes.

I’ll be leading a group of twelve across vast deserts, through safari game drives and into wilderness that feels unlike anywhere else. It will be a trip of a lifetime and a story to tell for years to come.

Along the way I’ll share my creative process and how I approach photographing destinations. Capturing not just scenery but the essence of a place and what makes it unique.

This year I’ve refined the itinerary with handpicked boutique accommodation and thoughtfully chosen activities, that place us in the right locations at the best moments of the day.

- Situated on the southwestern coast of Africa, Namibia is one of the least densely populated countries in the world.
- Health, safety and hygiene standards are high in accommodation, food and water, with very low disease risk for travellers.
- It’s typically a mild, dry climate during November, with warm days and cool nights.

The trip is open for anyone, hobbyists to professionals. No photography experience is required.
I just ask that you come curious, respectful of Namibian culture and up for an adventure.
I’m here to help, enjoy the ride with you and will tailor any education to your particular interests and skill level. Cameras aside — I’m an open book!

Day-by-day Itinerary

Day 1 — Windhoek

Welcome to Namibia

ARRIVAL

The adventure begins! You will be greeted by our local transfer team at the airport and taken to the lovely Weinberg Hotel to check in, meet the group and get settled for the evening.

An elegant boutique hotel, combining old world charm with contemporary design. Part of the Gondwana collection, this property (and its rooftop bar!) is the perfect starting point for the trip.

A welcome dinner awaits at Joe’s — it’s a local favourite and one of the country’s most famous restaurants. Sample Namibian cuisine, get to know the group and cheers to the adventure ahead.

Day 2 & 3 — Etosha NP

Wildlife in abundance

EXPERIENCE

We journey north into Etosha, where wildlife gathers around the vast salt pans. Over two days we head out on private 4×4 game drives, tracking elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras and more across open savannah. If only I could bottle up that feeling of seeing these animals in the wild for the first time.

ACTIVITIES

Pack your telephoto! Morning and afternoon game drives will offer incredible wildlife encounters and photographic opportunities. Together we’ll focus on light, composition and timing, working intentionally to capture animals within this striking landscape.
Onguma Forest Camp

ACCOMMODATION
Included: Breakfast & dinner day 2. All meals day 3.

Tucked into forest along a dry riverbed, this is an intimate bush retreat with a premium, classic safari feel. Thatched bungalows surround a waterhole, where we will have dinner overlooking visiting wildlife.

Day 4 & 5 — Damaraland

Ancient remote landscapes

EXPERIENCE

We travel west into Damaraland, where vast plains meet dramatic mountains and winding valleys. Defined by scale and silence, it’s a powerful setting for photographing Namibia’s raw, elemental beauty.
Camp Kipwe

ACCOMMODATION

Chosen for its aesthetic and earthy vibe, this lodge is built seamlessly into Damaraland’s granite boulders. Stone bungalows overlook sweeping valleys, offering a quiet, luxurious retreat after our days exploring.
Search for desert elephants

ACTIVITIES

6:30am we head out in 4×4s, looking for rare desert-adapted elephants — only around 150 remain in Namibia. Later we explore UNESCO sites for prehistoric art and spend time at the Damara Living Museum.

Day 6 — Spitzkoppe

The Matterhorn of Namibia

EXPERIENCE

Granite peaks rising nearly 700 metres above the desert floor create one of the region’s most dramatic environments. Here we slow down, wandering on foot and appreciating how the light moves across the mountains.
Spitzkoppen Lodge

Set among rocky outcrops with beautiful views, this remote lodge offers a peaceful base beneath Spitzkoppe’s towering peaks. Spacious chalets with private decks: made for relaxing and experiencing the night sky.
Starry skies & slow wanderings

ACTIVITIES

As the light softens, we walk among the earthy formations and photograph the iconic arch glowing at sunset. After dark, the clear desert sky reveals some of the best stargazing on earth. For night photography, unmatched!

Day 7 & 8 — Swakopmund

Where the desert meets the sea

EXPERIENCE

Moving to the coast, where the Namib Desert meets the Atlantic Ocean. Coastal air, ever shifting dunes and ocean wildlife bring a refreshing change of scenery after days exploring the inland wilderness. The endless scale of it all is just mind-boggling.
The Delight

ACCOMMODATION

This vibrant, warm stay places us well in town between our desert and ocean adventures, with time to explore Swakopmund. Comfy rooms make it the perfect place to rinse the sand away after a day on the dunes.
Golden hour grandeur

ACTIVITIES

We head out in 4×4 Defenders for the day, across the wild landscapes of the Namib-Naukluft Park. Together with the expert team and my good friends at Mola Mola Safaris. If a sunset will ever change your life, it will be here in the dunes. Amazing for photography!

Day 9 & 10 — Sossusvlei

A forest frozen in time

EXPERIENCE

Ancient camel thorn trees stand stark against pale clay and towering dunes, creating one of the most surreal landscapes on earth. That colour combination! A minimalist dream that is such a joy to photograph. It’s an iconic part of the trip.
Sossus Dune Lodge

Picked for its unbeatable location inside the national park, this lodge gives us special access to the dunes at sunrise and sunset — outside regular visiting hours. Eco-friendly chalets overlook the dunes, offering a scenic base during our stay.
Visit the oldest desert in the world

ACTIVITIES

We’ll venture deep into the Namib, photographing the shifting colours of the world’s tallest sandscapes at golden hour, for the best light. For those keen, optional hot air balloon or helicopter experiences are also available! When in Namibia.

Day 11 & 12 — Windhoek

A full circle moment

DEPARTURE

Our adventure comes full circle with a transfer to Windhoek Airport for onward flights. Whether heading home or continuing your travels, you’ll leave with core memories, new friends and countless photographs to remember Namibia by.

Over 3000km’s later and we’re back in civilisation, where the journey began. At this point, I’m always reminded how much life you can experience in such a short time. On the final stretch to Windhoek, we’ll make sure to stop for any last souvenirs.

Namibia is a place that quietly changed the way I see the world.

The scale of the landscapes, the silence of the desert, the way the light moves across dunes and mountains…it rekindled my creative spirit like few places ever have.

Over the past decade my work as a travel, hospitality and lifestyle photographer has taken me to many corners of the planet, often documenting remote places and the natural beauty they hold. Yet Namibia remains one of the countries that continues to call me back.

This expedition follows a route I’ve travelled several times before, refined this year with beautiful accommodation and considered activities that allow us to truly immerse ourselves in nature.

For 11 days we’ll share the road together: photographing otherworldly landscapes and wildlife, exchanging stories, ideas and perspectives along the way.

It’s a chance to step away from the noise of life, be present and reconnect with yourself and those around you.

I’ll be there to guide you through the photographic process, share what I’ve learned from years behind the camera and help you deepen your experience. Just as importantly, I’m looking forward to learning about you and the way you see the world!

Whether you’re just starting photography, building a portfolio, or drawn to travel Namibia in a more meaningful way with likeminded people, this journey creates space for both creativity and connection.

It’s also the only workshop expedition I’ll be hosting this year. Spots are on an application basis and intentionally limited to keep the experience personal.

I definitely welcome applicants with varied ages — a diverse group makes for a lot of fun after all. However, the average age of my guests are 25-35, just given the nature of the journey.
Almost all of my guests come on their own! I encourage it and think it gives the best chance for friendships to form on the trip. You wouldn’t believe how many guests end up making friends that they travel with after.
I’ve been lucky enough to host guests from all over the world. So far it’s been a mix of: Australia, UK, USA, Canada, Europe.
Yes absolutely, just let me know when you are booking so we can pass it on to our accommodation / service providers. :)
After you have completed this form and your application is a fit, I will reach out via email (within 5 working days) to set up a quick vibe check via video call. After that, if we’re both excited and ready to enjoy this expedition together, I will send through the booking link directly!
After the deposit is paid, your spot is secured and you will be enrolled in monthly payment instalments. You also have the option to pay the entire sum at once.
As the trip draws closer, myself and the team will form a WhatsApp group chat, provide trip and packing information, assist with visas and host a pre-trip group video call to run through any questions.
